Privacy policy

Who is responsible
This is the personal website of Sebastian Popity, Bratislava, Slovakia. For anything related to your personal data, email seba [at] popity [dot] ro.
No cookies, no tracking
The main pages of popity.ro (home, about, mail, privacy) set no cookies and use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts are hosted on this server, so no third-party service is contacted when you load these pages.
Server logs
Like every web server, the hosting server automatically records technical data when you visit: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, your browser and operating system, and the referring page. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are kept by the hosting provider, WebIndex (webindex.ro, servers in the EU), for a limited period and are not used to identify you.
Contact form
When you use the mail form, your email address, subject and message are sent to me by email so I can reply (your request, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)). The website does not store them. The email stays in my mailbox only as long as needed for our conversation. To prevent spam, a one-way hash of your IP address is kept on the server for 10 minutes and then discarded.
The blog
The blog runs on WordPress and may use cookies (for example for comments or embedded videos). When you first visit it, a consent banner lets you choose which ones you allow. Comments you post there store the name, email and text you submit.
External links
Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, YouTube, Strava and others take you to sites with their own privacy policies. No data is sent to them until you click.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Email me to exercise them; I will reply within one month. You can also file a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection (dataprotection.gov.sk) or the authority in your own EU country, such as ANSPDCP in Romania (dataprotection.ro).
